Siauliai International Airport

Siauliai International Airport is located in the South East of Siauliai city, in the North of Lithuania. It covers 471 hectares. The Airport was one of the largest military airports in the former Soviet Union. The Airport is strategically located between the East and West, adjacent to Lithuania’s major Railway systems and International Highways. From the very beginning of reconstruction (started in 1995) it was decided to design a cargo airport in Siauliai. After two years reconstruction carried out by “Philips Projects” CAT 1 state-of-art navigation systems, communication and meteorological observation devices, lighting system were installed, the new Air Traffic Control Tower and passenger terminal constructed. Siauliai International Airport was awarded with ICAO CAT 1 and officially inaugurated on August 28, 1997.

Cargo terminal

Cargo terminal warehouses with over 3000 sq. m of interior space and 2000 sq. m of apron offers favourable conditions for storage of different types of freight. Airport has certificated import – export terminal, equipped with heating system, optical fire alarm system, and security system. The main activities of the company are as follow: warehousing, custom clearance, loading – unloading of all types of aircraft, including B747, An-124. There are 10 hangars comprising the area of 536 sq. m each that could be rented and used as warehouses.

Passenger terminal

Passenger terminal is located in the south of the airport and is equipped with all the necessary facilities. It could provide passengers with the qualified service and required comfort.

Siauliai Airport now handles aircraft of various air companies of all types such as An 124 “Ruslan”, B747 , Il-76, DC8, C5 “Galaxy”, An 12, etc.

Airport has all the equipment, which are necessary for the handling: high loaders, belt loaders, fork lifts and other equipment for ground handling maintenance.

Parking and security services are available at the airport for the air companies that have light planes (MTOM less than 7000 kg). Such planes can be parked securely in the hangars for unlimited time.

The airport is ready to look over any offerings of airfreighters and other companies from around the world for the cooperation, as well as to give any assistance, to apply flexible system of fees for the airport services and fuel, to rent warehouses and offices for the interested companies from various countries, to establish joint companies.
