Emerging from Heckler & Koch GmbH, the young enterprise SW has a story rich in tradition.
1981: active within the Heckler & Koch Group as an independent line of business under the name Heckler & Koch Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH. A highly innovative group of enterprises with a broadly diversified assortment of products.
1991: then – the take-over of the Heckler & Koch group by British
Aerospace.
Alterations: concentration of the British group on defense-, aviation- and
space-technologies. Exclusion, amongst others, of the business lines
mechanical- and plant engineering.
1995: The management recognizes the opportunity: foundation of Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH. Shareholders: Walter A. Lamp and Dieter Kroll. An asset-deal signals continuity, and it confirms the assumption of all obligations towards customers, suppliers and employees.
2004: SW has been taken over to 100% by the EMAG group, Salach,
Germany, with retroactive effect to January 1st, 2004.
Mr. Kroll will stay president of the SW management. Worldwide the EMAG group
has 1500 employees and 150 trainees
(as of 12/2003).
Goals to achieve and tasks to perform.
There are many ways to machine the work pieces in question. However, there
are only a few concepts by which the job can be done successfully under the
predefined conditions: The economically optimum solution. What kind of
technology is required? Which investments will be necessary? Is a machining
centre needed or a production system with a machine featuring clamping
fixtures and tools, with on-site production support? The correct concept may
be the single-spindle machining centre. Or perhaps multi-spindle centres
with or without automation. Or, alternatively, the multi-spindle
special-purpose machine. Which ever decision is made here, one thing is for
sure: in any event the quality must be guaranteed.
SW can plan and build the right production system fitted to suit your individual requirements. We can give you technical and economical advice concerning the choice of machine, the clamping fixtures, the tools and the respective automation. We can give you support regarding the sequence of your production-operations at your facilities, we can train your employees, and we stand ready to ensure excellent service, if problems should arise.
Well advised.
There are many questions to be answered before you decide in favour of a
certain type of machine. How is the work piece clamped, which is the best
possible sequence of operations for machining? Which technology? Horizontal,
vertical? One-spindle, two-spindle, multi-spindle?
A comprehensive conception of SW – verified by sequence of operations studies and by profitability calculations – ensures the suitability of the machine to be used. This may even be demonstrated by performing trials in the case of doubt, since there is one thing we have no room for: doubt about choosing a SW machine.
