Técnicas Reunidas (TR) is a major international general contractor for Power (Nuclear, Coal, Oil and Gas Fossil-Fired, Combined Cycle, Renewable Energy and Cogeneration Power Plants), Oil & Gas as well as Infrastructures.

Since 1959 TR has designed and built more than 1,000 industrial plants worldwide in over 50 countries.

During the last 25 years 70% of the revenues have come from international activity. Also during this period over 75% of TR revenues have come from large turnkey projects.

TR is the largest Engineering & Construction Company in Spain, one of the leaders in Europe in the design and construction of Power Plants and Oil & Gas facilities, and one of the world leaders in the refining sector.

TR has recent and large references in Spain, France, Germany, Portugal, Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, Ecuador, Mexico, Algeria, Namibia, Egypt, Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, China, Indonesia and Viet Nam.

TR has a deep involvement in Power Plant Design & Construction in the last 40 years and particularly in Nuclear Power Plants since Spain began its Nuclear Program 2nd phase, in the early 70’s.

Among many other capacities TR has developed its own know-how to design and supply Heat Transfer equipment. TR has supplied worldwide over 3,000 Heat Transfer equipments installations, already in operation, to the power and petrochemical industries. In particular TR has design and supplied many heat exchangers to numerous nuclear power plants.

TR has a vast experience in Power Generation, in all types of power plants:

In the area of conventional power generation, TR has completed numerous projects for new Fossil-Fired Power Plants, both in Spain and abroad, burning hard and bituminous coal, anthracite, lignite, fuel oil, gas and biomass, and covering a wide range of boiler types, combustion technologies, and all major boiler, gas turbine and steam turbine suppliers.

TR is also active in the development of new technologies for electric power generation such as: Advanced Nuclear Reactors, Nuclear Fusion Facilities, Coal and Fuel Based Gasification Integrated with Combined Cycle and Molten Carbonate Fuel Cells.

Worth mentioning is TR’s recent award to participate in an Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle Project (IGCC) in Fujian, China for Sinopec, Exxon and Saudi Aramco.

In the Nuclear Power Generation Sector TR has participated in the engineering, procurement and construction of six 1.000 MW Nuclear units in Spain with BWR technology from GE, and PWR technology from Westinghouse and Siemens, as well as in the operational support engineering and services to these Plants and to all the other NPPs in Spain.

TR has also provided engineering, equipment supply and/or support services to many projects and NPPs in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, USA, Italy, Finland, Turkey, former republic of Yugoslavia and Taiwan and to all VVER and RMBK NPPs in Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Lithuania and Russia. TR also participates in the engineering and licensing of some of the advanced reactor designs (Generation III and III+).

TR’s expertise also includes radioactive waste management, spent fuel storage facilities and plant decommissioning projects and services.
