Within the last two years alone, our Inward Investment team has attracted
over £500 million of investment and secured several thousand jobs to the area
while at the same time, work continues at a pace on our five flagship projects
destined to transform the face of the Tees Valley and put the region firmly on
the map.
At Central Park in Darlington, Commercial Estates Group, Yuill Homes and Keepmoat Plc will deliver 600 new homes, offices, restaurants and bars, a hotel with conference centre, health and child care facilities, public art and open spaces.
The development will be the biggest in Darlington for a generation and
represents an investment of £200m, creating 2,000 new jobs.
At Middlehaven in Middlesbrough, detailed planning consent has been granted for the first of nine futuristic cube buildings developed by BioRegional Quintain.
The £200m scheme, featuring 900,000sq ft of development,
will
be the UK’s most environmentally friendly development with zero carbon
emissions. It is expected to create over 3,000 jobs and will feature 2,400 homes
alongside shops, bars, cafes restaurants and a luxury hotel.
In Stockton, work has started on an iconic £15 million footbridge the new landmark footbridge which will link Tees Valley Regeneration’s North Shore development and the flourishing Teesdale area of the town.
In
Hartlepool, Victoria Harbour project is an exciting and innovative 200
acre development that opens up a fresh stretch of waterfront to the north of the
Marina.
The scheme will include top class housing, leisure and business, as well as a whole raft of facilities from a proposed new school and beautifully planned open space to a new bridge and coastal walk.k.
Creating
a real gateway into Tees Valley, plans continue with a 250-acre site project
next to the up-and-coming Durham and Tees Valley International Airport.
Work has already been completed on a new £1.8 million access road to improve access, create a sense of arrival and boost the business potential of the land around the airport.
Now a business park, aimed at airport related trade, will be developed alongside hotel and leisure uses ensuring an unforgettable arrival into the exciting place that is the Tees Valley.
