When it comes to detection of small objects in rough weather conditions and over long distances, Terma is a leader in the global marketplace for radar systems for surveillance applications. The SCANTER product range comprises the SCANTER 2001 and the combined Sea- and Air Surveillance radar, the SCANTER 4000, which is in its final stages of development.
SCANTER 2001 – Small Target Detection
The SCANTER 2001 radar sensor is a highly sensitive and high-resolution
radar system, tailored for use where requirements to interference rejection,
signal processing and resistance to a tough environment are necessary
parameters to maintain continuous radar coverage.
The SCANTER 2001 is modularly designed, and thus comes in a number of configurations, optimized for the specific application and local weather conditions.
Key features:
Several other features such as programmable Pulse Repetition Frequency (PRF), Pulse Width (PW) and random PRF stagger are available to enable task-specific set-up.
Antennas
The SCANTER radar systems are supported by a wide range of antennas,
including a series of high-gain antennas. The high-gain antennas come as fan
beam cosec2 or inverse cosec2 antennas to be selected depending on the
antenna height and location with respect to e.g. the waterfront. The
antennas are available with fixed Linear polarization (Horizontal) as well
as fixed Circular polarization (CP) which is recommended for areas with
severe rain precipitation.
Site-survey, Service and Support
To complement the delivery of SCANTER Radar Sensor Systems, Terma offers
experienced technical support right from the early stages; including a
thorough site-survey, on-site installation, training of operators as well as
extensive after-sales service and support.
International References
Terma has supplied radar sensor systems to a large number of Ports and
Inland Waterways all over the world. Our experience ranges from monitoring
of traffic in high density posts as Hong-Kong, extreme cold areas as Alaska
and extreme hot areas as the Gulf area. Terma is therefore well-prepared to
cope with new challenging projects wherever they may appear.
