TMD Friction is a partner to all the major automotive and brake manufacturers, including the car manufacturers Audi, Aston Martin, BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Ferrari, Fiat, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Jaguar, Mazda, Porsche, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Renault/Nissan, Suzuki, Toyota/Lexus and VW. In the commercial vehicle segment, TMD Friction also equips BPW, DAF/Leyland, DaimlerChrysler, Iveco, MAN, Neoplan, RVI, Scania, Volvo-Truck and VW. The company operates 15 production plants on the European, American and Asian continent, ensuring a presence close to all the major brake and vehicle manufacturers. This physical proximity facilitates the company's early integration into the development and production of new products.

Research and development secure future growth

In order to manufacture products that meet the highest demands in terms of safety, comfort, performance and durability, TMD Friction maintains three large research and development centres in Europe, North and South America. In Asia the company will extend its R&D presence over the next few years, building on its current locations and development activities in China and Japan.

With its brands TEXTAR, PAGID, MINTEX and DON, TMD Friction offers the aftermarket tailored solutions for a variety of market requirements.

TMD Friction was one of the first foreign friction companies to come to China. Today it operates two manufacturing plants, one in the northern part of China (Shijiazhuang) and one in the south (Hangzhou). In both companies TMD Friction enjoys the active support of a Chinese business partner.

Both Chinese factories are qualified A-supplier to various vehicle manufacturers. They supply a wide range of car models in original equipment. The Shijiazhuang factory produces furthermore drum brake linings for commercial vehicle manufacturers in China.

TMD Friction in China has a central office in Shanghai.

Current OEM customers of TMD Friction in China for passenger cars and commercial vehicles are: FAW-VW, Shanghai VW, Changan Ford, Changan Suzuki, Changhe Suzuki, China Brilliance FAW-Hainan, FAW, Beijing Benz DaimlerChrysler, Harbin Aircraft, BPW, Baotou Benz, Zhengzhou Yutong, Guangzhou Huajing, Zhejiang Baohua and Tianjin Anda.

Outlook

With the aim of becoming the world's number one brake friction manufacturer, TMD Friction has recently launched an ambitious perfection programme for the future. This involves improvements in all segments of the company.
