For more than 40 years, VIGAN Engineering S.A. is manufacturing and marketing equipment for handling products in bulk:

The main products are all types of cereals, oilseeds, raw materials for animal feed such as all the industrial by-products from the milling and oil crushing industry.

But VIGAN mechanical or pneumatic equipment are also handling many other products such as alumina, soda ash, chemicals, fertilisers, petrocoke, coal and others. 

For alumina, a special know-how allows an efficient unloading rate without producing any dust to the environment (it means no spillage) and with low operating costs thanks to top quality components and its innovative engineering.

The product density use to be between 0.5 and 1.5. An adequate free flowing characteristic is usually advisable but VIGAN developed a special technology for compacted product such as soybean meal.

Mobile or portable pneumatic conveyors (also called vacuvators or grain pumps) with a capacity from 100 to 250 tph (tons per hour) are particularly suited for use in the agricultural sector and generally speaking have also their main application in the port sector for small to medium size operations.

Barge Unloaders

Barge unloaders with a capacity from 150 to 400 tph are most commonly installed along the rivers and water channels in the hinterland. Those pneumatic equipment are performing particularly well in comparison with grabs as they do not produce any dust and are most efficient for final cleaning: one single operator can manage the whole unloading process thanks to a remote control.

Pneumatic ship unloaders with capacity up to 600 metric tons per suction pipe can be supplied on stationary gantry, on rubber wheels or on rails.

In those cases they are self propelled thanks to their generator set and/or their cable reel for electrical feeding.

As for the barge unloaders, all those large size equipment are totally customised and manufactured according to technical specifications which are duly engineered for the client in relation to his own requirements.

Mechanical Ship Unloaders  

Mechanical ship unloaders  with capacity up to 1,500 tph use the twin belt technology : pair of conveying belts hold the material gently but firmly in the elevator leg and along the horizontal boom. Low energy consumption, no degradation of the material and easily adjustable speed are some advantages among others. Those mechanical unloaders are particularly suited for unloading rate above 600 tph and an annual unloading rate above 1 million tons. 

Barge and ship loaders are mechanical handling systems with a capacity up to 1 – 1.500 tons, also completely custom made.
