For unloading of ships and barges, VIGAN pneumatic technology is based upon its own most reliable multi stage turbo blowers

The main products which are handled by VIGAN equipment are:

• all types of cereals and oilseeds
• all types of seeds
• raw materials for animal feeds
• many raw chemicals such as soda ash, fertilisers, alumina,…

with a density from 0.5 to 1.5 and with free flowing characteristics.

A special device is available to handle compacted materials like soybean meal for instance.

Delicate cargoes such as malt for breweries, cocoa beans for chocolates and rice can also be handled with VIGAN equipment without product damage thanks to state of the art technology.

More than 1,000 equipment were sold all over the world with commercial references in almost 85 countries: port authorities, flour millers, large international groups such as Cargill or Heineken groups, stevedoring companies,…

Several of those customers were repeating orders to VIGAN for their various affiliates all around the world.

In 2003 and 2004, some of the most interesting projects were:

• Cargill Agricola in Santarém (BRAZIL) along the Amazon river: 2 barge unloaders with a capacity of 400 metric tons per hour each.
• In CHINA, nearby the city of Chongqing (about 1000 kilometres from Shanghai along the Yangste river) : 1 barge unloader with a capacity of 400 metric tons per hour.
• Also in CHINA during the autumn 2004, 4 ship unloaders on rails for alumina (each one with a capacity of 250 metric tons per hour) are commissioned in the port of Rizhao and Lianyungang.
• In UNITED KINGDOM, an unloader (200 mtph) for coastal vessels was delivered to Cargill plant in Liverpool area.
• Two equipment were delivered on GREECE to the port of Heraklion : 220 mtph each.
• In the south of PERU, a 400 mtph ship unloader on rails was delivered to TISUR in the port of Matarani.
• A 400 mtph ship unloader on rubber wheels was delivered in the port of Pusan in SOUTH KOREA to the company Global Entreprise.
• In FRANCE, a stationary unloader in the port of Rouen was delivered to Lesieur company.
• In North Africa (ALGERIA – Bejaia port and MOROCCO - Safi port): one ship unloader on rubber wheels (500 mtph) and one ship unloader on rails with a weighing scale.

More than 40 mobile conveyors (vacuvators) were delivered during the same period.
