Desktop & Notebook PCs

Viglen manufactures a full range of PCs, from value-oriented systems incorporating Intel® Celeron™ technology right through to the very latest 933MHz Intel® Pentium® III processor - the ultimate in performance.

Viglen has undertaken substantial investment to become one of the few UK manufacturers to have developed an in-house CE certification laboratory. This gives Viglen the ability to test new products during the early development stages, shortening the time-lag between conception and introduction, and therefore maintaining its position at the forefront of new technologies.

Viglen’s award-winning range of Genie PCs has been specifically designed for network environments. As well as passing the strictest levels of approvals and accreditation with all major Network Operating Systems, all Genie PCs offer remote manageability as a key feature. Conforming to the latest ‘Wired for Management’ initiatives from Intel and Microsoft, Genie systems focus on lowering Total Cost of Ownership by allowing remote management and administration over a compliant network. Genie systems are available in both full-sized expandable cases and in minimized footprint format, ideal for those environments where desk space is at a premium.

Viglen’s fully multimedia enabled "Dossier" range of Notebook PCs span both the entry-level and the high-end of the portable PC marketplace. The Dossier LC provides performance in a compact, cost-effective package and is particularly suited to markets where maximising the purchasing power of IT budgets is a core issue. The flagship Dossier XL series offers power users Intel® Pentium® III performance to speed through even the most demanding of today’s sophisticated applications.

Network File Servers

Viglen offers a comprehensive range of Intel-based servers, typically as part of a total network solution and has been acknowledged as the UK’s leading supplier of Intel-based server products. The company has a solution to match any networking application and business size. All Viglen servers are based on ‘Real Server’ technology, so you’re guaranteed ‘Real Server’ performance, reliability, manageability and scalability from entry level right through to Enterprise-class.

In the first UK review of latest 8-way servers, Viglen’s XX8 server defeated four of the UK’s top vendors, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Fujitsu-Siemens and Compaq. The sheer performance, build quality and features of the XX8 meant that Network News had, "…no hesitation in naming the Viglen XX8 as the Best Buy in this test." (Network News, 8th December 1999)
