15 SEPTEMBER 2007

THE NAPC REVIEWSovereign Publications, who are the official publishers of THE NAPC REVIEW, are delighted to announce that they will be producing a special publication to commemorate the NAPC’s 10th anniversary in 2008.

The NAPC was established in 1998 after forming a merger between the National Association of Fundholding Practices (NAFP) and the Association of Independent Multifunds (AIM). The organisation both in its original guise and in its current role offers support and advice to its members and also holds routine discussions with Ministers for Health and their officials on matter of policy, with a view to influencing the direction of travel empathetic to primary care.

NAPC believes the future of primary care lies in service redesign, public and patient engagement as well as in the beleaguered Practice Based Commissioning scheme, which it enthusiastically supports. The Association is heavily involved in meetings with the new Government to assist in removing some of the barriers to the operation of the scheme, brought about by the reconfiguration of Primary Care Trusts and some of its personalities.

The 10th anniversary publication will form an important part of NAPC’s communication strategy and is specifically designed to be used by all professionals, managers and senior decision-making executives, involved in delivering primary healthcare in the UK.

Times are challenging for primary care and, yet, they present huge opportunities in the future for everyone involved in the U.K. healthcare sector. The NAPC would like to encourage those companies involved in the primary care sector to support this 10th anniversary issue, which will celebrate the growth and progress of the NAPC and which will provide important decision makers with the knowledge of developments within every area of the healthcare sector.
