to new “Climate Change” publication

Publications has just signed a new three-year contract to publish
a review in association with the European Organization for Packaging
and the Environment (EUROPEN), covering all sectors of the packaging
industry.
Entitled, "Packaging Solutions
International", the publication will provide a high quality,
interesting and informative review of technical issues, policy
matters, environmental factors, management and financial considerations
and technological developments that affect the packaging industry
in Europe.
Designed to be used by senior decision-making executives
in the packaging, converting and printing sector worldwide,

Sovereign’s

will be published, in future, in association with and under
the editorial management of the CENTRE FOR DEFENCE STUDIES AT
KING’S COLLEGE LONDON (CDS). As the interests of CDS are international,
this new alliance will enable the publication to provide even
more insightful and independent articles covering the international
defence industry, in addition to reviewing national policy and
procurement strategies.
The Centre for Defence Studies was established at King’s
College London in 1990, initially with a core grant from the
UK Ministry of Defence. CDS is now a key component of the International
Policy Institute (IPI) at King’s. The primary mission of the
CDS is to engage in research at the highest level on British,
European and international defence and security issues; to promote
interdisciplinary approaches to security and defence policy

international staff of academic policy researchers, practitioners,
associates and visiting fellows. The Director of the CDS is

NEW EDITOR
The new Editor of WORLD DEFENCE
SYSTEMS is Dr Paul Cornish, who served in the British
Army (Royal Tank Regiment) and as an arms control analyst in
the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He was Senior Research
Fellow on the International Security Programme at the Royal
Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), and taught
security and strategic studies at the Defence Studies Department
of King’s College London (Joint Services Command and Staff College),
and at the University of Cambridge. He was NATO Research Fellow
2000-2002, and was appointed Director of the Centre for Defence
Studies in September 2002. Dr Cornish has published widely,
covering themes such as European security, arms and technology
transfer regulation, and the laws of war.

Appointment of EDITOR

John Stirling has been appointed Editor of the IFEH's new
official Annual Review. John has spent almost all of his career
in the environmental health sector and until recently was Deputy
Director of Environmental Health in the city of Edinburgh.
He is Past President of the Royal Environmental Health Institute
(REHIS) and has been Editor of the REHIS magazine for almost
8 years. He was responsible for developing the REHIS magazine
into an excellent professional publication which is now respected
as one of the most important environmental health magazines
in the sector.
He recently became involved with the International Federation
of Environmental Health and is its Education Liaison Officer.
An acknowledged expert on noise nuisance and abatement, he is
also a Lecturer on the Environmental Health Degree Course at
the University of Edinburgh.
