WORLD PORTS DEVELOPMENT was published in 1999 in association with The International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH). The title explores the new developments and technologies involved in the construction and development of ports and major harbors around the world, as well as other issues and challenges presently facing the maritime industry. THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PORTS AND HARBORS (‘IAPH’) IAPH is a worldwide association of ports and harbors with members representing more than 80 countries and economies throughout the world. It was established in 1955 and has been working for the improved efficiency of ports and the improvement of the welfare of ports at large by bringing together the experience and expertise of each port. IAPH aims to serve the collected interests of ports, which occupy a unique position in world commerce. The Head Office of IAPH is located in Tokyo and it has a European Representative office in London which works as a pivot for IAPH’s positive participation in and coordination with various activities related to maritime industries that are taking place in London or other European cities.
